However you come in, the work is the same at its root: building enough safety in the body and the relationship that the hard things become possible to look at.

Individual Therapy

Individual work is time that belongs entirely to you. For some people, that means untangling anxiety, depression, or a period of grief. For others it means finally getting curious about a pattern that has followed them through every job or every relationship and asking where it started.

We move at the pace your system can actually tolerate. That often means paying as much attention to what happens in your body as to what you are saying, because the body tends to know first. You do not need a crisis to justify being here, and you do not need to arrive with a clear question. Not knowing what is wrong is a perfectly good place to start.

I work with teens, adults, and older adults on anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, ADHD, self esteem and body image, relationship patterns, life transitions, and the after effects of abuse or violence.

Couples and Family Therapy

Most couples do not arrive because they stopped caring. They arrive because the same conversation keeps happening and neither person can find the exit. Underneath that loop there are usually two nervous systems doing their best to stay safe in ways that read to the other person as attack or abandonment.

I use Gottman’s Method alongside trauma-informed somatic work to slow that loop down enough to see. We look at what actually happens in the seconds before a conversation goes sideways, what each of you is protecting, and how you might turn toward one another instead of away. The goal is not to decide who is right. It is to make it possible to hear each other again.

I also work with families navigating conflict, a difficult transition, or the strain of one member’s struggle on everyone else.

One thing worth knowing before we begin

In couples work I hold what is sometimes called a limited secrets policy. If you tell me something privately, by phone, email, or any other means, I may bring it into our shared sessions when I judge it matters to the work. I will use care about how and when. What I will not do is carry a secret for one of you against the other, because that quietly makes me part of the problem rather than a help with it. You will both sign a form covering this before we start.
